In this episode, we connect with Nathan Fournier of HomeHarvest Central MA. Nathan is a Mechanical Engineer graduate who came to despise the cubical lifestyle. One day his career vision changed, while listening to a podcast discussing permaculture (permanent agriculture). He realize he wanted to quit his engineering job and start an edible landscaping business. Nathan began to read and learn more about permaculture which then eventually led into him taking a 4 month trip to New Zealand where he lived on an agricultural farm. On this trip he was able to spiritually connect to the farm, the people and the process of agriculture itself. He then returned home, committed to making this vision come to life by partnering up with HomeHarvest, an edible landscaping business out of Arlington, Massachusetts.
Still wondering what exactly is edible landscaping? Nathan explains it all. Their edible landscaping material includes fruit trees, vegetable gardens, edible flowers, berry bushes and so much more! But that's not all, HomeHarvest Central MA also offers masonry work, construction, and wood construction to help every detail of your landscape vision come to life! Additionally they offer traditional landscaping, but what makes them different from other businesses is that they focus more on the edible side of things and believe in reconnecting with nature and creating a natural feel where they are mimicking the forest. Listen in to learn more about why Nathan believes you should stop mowing, and start growing!
